Tweetintosh
A native macOS client for X.
macOS 15 or later · About 5 MB. Unofficial, and neither affiliated with nor endorsed by X Corp. or Apple.
A window, not a web page.
Every timeline, post, and profile is rendered natively in SwiftUI—never inside a web view. It respects your Mac's system appearance, or lets you choose your own.
Your place stays put.
New posts collect behind a pill at the top until you choose to reveal them, so your timeline never jumps.
The app opens instantly from an offline snapshot, then refreshes quietly in the background. Loading states trace out the word in a single fluid stroke—no jarring spinners.
Posts open beside the timeline.
In wider windows, selecting a post glides a reading pane in beside the timeline, keeping your place in the feed exactly where you left it.
Force click on the trackpad to peek at a profile, photo, or link without losing context.
Glass, under real light.
On macOS 26 or later, toolbars and controls float in translucent Liquid Glass, reacting dynamically to depth and light.
Appearance modes, typography, background warmth, and accent colors can all be tailored in Settings.
Five languages, woven in.
Switch languages in Settings and the entire interface updates on the fly, with no restart required.
These labels are drawn straight from the app's translation table. Preview them above, or toggle the Mincho / Songti serif typeface designed for quiet, comfortable reading.
Build it yourself.
All you need is macOS 15 or later and the Swift command-line tools—no full Xcode installation required.
./build.sh
